Washington Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, is recruiting a dynamic communications and administration manager. The ideal candidate has experience in managing government communications, excels in verbal, written, and graphic communication, and demonstrates a deep understanding of media trends and a passion for maintaining public trust in the Township’s brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Administrator, the Manager provides support by managing special projects, performing policy research, addressing resident concerns, performing various professional administrative duties, managing external and internal communications functions for Washington Township, and:
- Serves as the Township liaison between the Administrator’s office and department directors, employee committees, outside contractors and consultants, and the public.
- Provides the central point of contact for media and community groups.
- Develops communications strategies and initiatives; ensures Township branding is applied consistently externally and internally; develops and distributes materials for external and internal communications; Township website and social media.
- Assists elected officials, Administrator, and Senior Leadership Team with speeches, reports, proclamations, and letters, as directed.
- Coordinates Township participation in various community relations projects such as Americana and events such as the Township Business Breakfast.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum qualification requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field, and three years in a public administration environment, or any combination of experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Preferred qualification requires a master’s degree in public administration, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field.
Must be able to drive, use hands, see, speak, and hear, operate standard office equipment, use a personal computer and related software programs, and lift, carry and push up to 25 lbs. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and remain insurable under the Township’s vehicle insurance plan.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Pay range is $69,139 to $91,000 annually (effective 12/24/24) and is an exempt, non-union position. Entry rate is contingent upon candidate’s experience, qualifications, and related skills, knowledge, and ability.
