Township Officials Compensation

Compensation adjustments for elected officials, including township officials, was amended into Senate Bill 296, which took effect December 27. The bill provides a 1.75% cost of living adjustment (COLA) to township officials that begins in 2019 and extends through 2028. HOWEVER, per the Ohio Constitution, current sitting trustees and fiscal officers are not eligible for the increase until they are re-elected. Any person appointed to fill a vacancy or elected to a township office AFTER January 1, 2019 is eligible for the increase.
