Ohio Twps Continue to Receive ARP Support from Ohio's Congressional Delegation & Local Gov. Groups

Newsroom,

The Ohio Congressional delegation and several of Ohio’s local government groups have continued to express support for Ohio townships, reaching out to US Treasury Secretary Yellen to ask her to consider Ohio townships eligible for direct funding under the ARP Act. (View the letters from OMA, CAAO, and the Republican members of Ohio’s Congressional delegation below, as well as links to the OTA's previous news regarding support expressed by members of Ohio's Congressional delegation, by NATaT, and by the OTA's other state and federal partners.)

Such support is invaluable, and the OTA will continue to strive for an implementation of the ARP Act that includes townships being determined eligible for ARP Act funding. Due to language inconsistencies between bill versions, a change in the definition of “nonentitlement units of local government” has caused widespread confusion over whether or not Ohio’s 1,308 townships are directly eligible for this crucial funding.

More updates will be provided from the OTA as new developments take place.
