Full-Time Parks and Road Services Worker
Liberty Township, Delaware County

Job duties include maintaining well-maintained, safe roadways and a welcoming, clean park system for residents and visitors. You will operate pickup trucks, dump trucks, tractors, and other large equipment and use zero-turn and push lawnmowers, chainsaws, and outdoor tools and equipment.

The parks and road service worker’s position performs a variety of roadway maintenance tasks, including repairing potholes; replacing township road signs; cleaning out and installing new drainage pipes; applying crack sealants and blacktop patches; repairing curbs, sidewalks, and guardrails; maintaining road berms; excavating deteriorated concrete and asphalt; painting stop bars and traffic lines on roadways; and flagging traffic as needed.

Wintertime responsibilities include plowing nearly 100 lane miles of roadway, operating backhoes to load salt into plow trucks, and applying salt and deicing solution.

Applicants must possess a commercial driver's license or be able to obtain one within six months of hire.

Starting pay is $22 per hour, with top pay at $32.45 per hour. New employees receive a $475 uniform clothing allowance and $200 for steel-toed work boots. All OPERS service time will be recognized for vacation accrual purposes. The 2024-2027 USW Contract is available on our website.
