Workshop - Preventing Workplace Harassment

With the recent changes to Ohio’s discrimination law, it is more important than ever that townships provide harassment training for employees and that supervisors understand their obligations. This workshop will provide a general session for both employees and supervisors, and will cover applicable definitions of key words and terms, the administrative and legal framework applicable to discrimination and harassment, pertinent examples, both the employee’s and employer’s rights and responsibilities under the administrative and legal framework, what to expect during an investigation, and a review of the importance of following applicable policies and procedures. 

The workshop will also have a supervisor-specific session that explains the discrimination and harassment charge process, supervisor dos and don’ts, and the importance of documentation.

Those that register for this training will receive a Model Township Discrimination and Harassment Policy created by Bricker & Eckler.
