Gary Salmon is a trustee in Oxford Township, Butler County, where he has served for 15 years and of which he is a lifelong resident. Since 2011, he has been the President of the Butler County Township Association, and he has served on the OTA Board as a Director since 2018.
Gary is motivated by things that challenge him to come up with innovative, practical solutions. “Townships have a lot of issues in common, but there are some areas with local issues - such as fracking in the eastern part of Ohio - and as a director, I have a greater opportunity to connect with officials from those areas and learn about the issues they face.”
Gary is a member of the Butler County Farm Bureau Public Policy Committee, is Secretary for the Historic Hopewell Church Board of Trustees, is Vice Chairman of the Butler County Board of Zoning Appeals, President of the Butler County Emergency Management Agency Executive Board, is an alternate for a trustee on the Public Works Integrating Committee District #10, represents the OTA on the HSTS Technical Advisory Committee, and is also involved with the Oxford Museum Association, Oxford United Methodist Church and the Butler County Complete Count Committee for the 2020 Census.
Gary is employed by Harvest Land Cooperative and has a B.S. in Agriculture Economics from the University of Kentucky. He is married to Kathy and has two daughters.
